Reel Causes’ screening events are great social gatherings – with a twist!
We feature award-winning independent films and highlight the work of film artists and Canadian organizations working to address social justice, environmental and health-related causes. Audience members catch films not available at commercial venues plus engage and connect with organizations making real change – locally and globally.
Reel Causes events are social, fun, thought-provoking, and offer an innovative way for film-goers to learn about and engage with issues that affect them, as well as the broader community.
Our mission: to educate, inspire and engage the community around social justice, environmental and health-related issues. We believe that experiencing art directed to these issues – especially through the medium of film – combined with connecting collectively as a group, and engaging directly with organizations working to affect positive change, provides empowering tools for individuals to make change in their own unique ways.
Reel Causes is a Vancouver-based BC registered non-profit society.
Come join us! Reel Causes – make change through the power of film.
A film can promote the idea of change without any political message whatsoever but in its form and language can tell people that they can change their lives and contribute to progressive changes in the world. — Film Director Wim Wenders
