The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – British Columbia (CPAWS-BC) is a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting lands, waters, and wildlife in BC. Since 1978, we have worked alongside First Nations, scientists, and communities to defend BC’s natural environment and safeguard biodiversity for future generations.

As part of one of Canada’s oldest environmental organizations, CPAWS-BC advocates for strong conservation policies, supports Indigenous-led conservation, and advances the creation of large, interconnected protected areas. Our work ensures that nature in BC remains resilient in the face of climate change and industrial pressures, helping species like caribou, orca, and salmon thrive.

Based in Vancouver, CPAWS-BC is at the forefront of efforts to protect 30% of BC’s lands, freshwater, and ocean areas by 2030 (30×30). Through public engagement, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships, we work to shape the future of conservation in the province.

CPAWS-BC is committed to reconciliation and recognizes that BC’s lands and waters are the unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples, who have been stewards of these ecosystems since time immemorial. By working together, we can protect nature, support communities, and build a more sustainable future for all.
