Emmanuel Jal (born Jal Jok c. 1980) is a South Sudanese musician and former child soldier. While performing at the 2012 Winnipeg Folk Festival Jal announced that he would be moving to Canada.
The Inland Refugee Society of British Columbia
is a non-profit, non-governmental agency dedicated to providing assistance to families and individuals seeking refugee protection in Canada. Inland works in partnership with other refugee services organizations to prevent homelessness and hunger, and support social and economic integration in Canada. Inland assists refugee claimants to meet their immediate needs and adapt to their new home by helping to ensure that their basic needs are met, including housing, clothing, food and transportation & free English classes.
